Make a Hanukkah-themed lantern from a milk carton

Hanukkah is coming, and I'd like to suggest this simple craft idea. A Hanukkah-themed lantern can be made with kids, it doesn't require special skills or materials and lets you recycle things you would otherwise throw away.
Tools and materials needed
- Empty milk or juice carton, the larger the better
- Pieces of wrapping paper with a nice pattern and bright colors
- Wax paper
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Craft knife
- Adhesive
- Small candle (tealight) or a battery-operated light
Instructions
Step 1: Cut off the top of the carton
Step 2: Cover the carton with the wrapping paper
Step 3: On each side draw a Hanukkah related image. You can download this free PDF template with the pictures of a jug, Hanukkah Menorah, dreidel, and candle to make a lantern like on the photo above.
Step 4: Cut through the wrapping paper and carton walls along the outer lines of your drawings
Step 5: Glue pieces of wax paper inside the carton, so that they cover the windows
Step 6: Now cut the inner parts of the images out of the wrapping paper and glue them onto the wax paper from outside the carton
Step 7: Put the candle or electric light inside the lantern and enjoy
Although putting a small candle (tealight) in a milk carton lantern is safe due to its size and the materials used, don't leave it unattended. If possible, use a battery operated electric light.
