Quilled knee cross-sectional anatomy
Impressed with the work of Lisa Nilsson, I decided to try my hand at anatomical quilling, too. A few months ago my husband had a problem with his knee and I made a small gift for his orthopedist — this quilled knee cross-section.
Working on this project was fascinating. Although the work is small in size, making it took a lot of time. My progress with the bones was especially slow. Nevertheless, I enjoyed quilling this piece like never before. As usual I used 1/8"-wide and 1/16"-wide paper strips (3 mm and 1.5 mm correspondingly). I absolutely agree with Lisa Nilsson, who wrote "I find quilling exquisitely satisfying for rendering the densely squished and lovely internal landscape of the human body in cross section". I hope this is not my last work of this kind, but hopefully no more knee problems.
The finished work is framed in a deep 7 by 9 1/2" frame (18x24 cm).

Весьма правдоподобно =) аккуратно и интересно. Особенно понравились ободки-бороздочки на костях, сделанные при помощи разной плотности роллов. И цвета хорошо подобрались, натуральненькие =)
