As I already wrote, my art classes keep me very busy. Usually I have a lot of projects to do, and I wanted to share one of the latest. It's a plaster cast of my own hand with a quilled Monarch butterfly.
I like the contrast between the plain white sculpture and the colorful Monarch, between the rough surface of the hand and the intricate filigree of the butterfly. As for the technical details, 1/8"(3mm)-wide paper strips of 4 tints were used for the butterfly. It took me about half a day to create it.
I'm sure everybody would like to have a beautiful butterfly sitting on her finger, don't you think so? This simple idea gave me the inspiration for this sculpture.
