Unbelievable! My quilling on a book cover... without my permission

Sometimes I stumble upon my texts and images, stolen by other websites. Sometimes I see copies of my designs, published on the Web without mentioning me. Sometimes I even blog about plagiarism. But what I've seen 10 minutes ago was just "above and beyond"! My photograph of my quilled butterfly had been used for a Russian book cover! They are going to publish the book by March 8. I'm not sure if my text, designs or images had been used inside the book, but the cover is more than enough.

If you don't recognize the picture on the screenshot, look at my Quilled butterfly in a fishbowl.

UPD: Thanks for your support!

I want to say a big "Thank you!" to everybody who supported me in this unpleasant situation. I received a letter from the publisher, and they assured me that the cover will be changed and the content will be completely original, written by their author. They blame the designer, who made the cover and let down both the author and the publisher.

Good for you Inna! I'm glad you reached them before it was published. Maybe they could have made it up paying you for usage rights? Your work is so lovely and deserves to be published and recognized!

Hi Inna,
This also happened to me.something similar. They copied my artwork´s photo, removed my name and put it on sale in the internet as if it were made by them.
It is really bad and frustrating to see so many malicious people. As if the internet were an unclaimed territory.
You should be able to get in touch with the editors, claiming your rights.
I really hope you succeed in solving this issue.
best wishes
Nati(from Brasil)

What can I say Nati :( At least they promised to remove my photo from the cover before the book goes into print.

Anyway, thanks a lot for your support!

Inna,
I am very saddened by this type of procedure. Imagine, you have your work known throughout the world and many followers. I can find on the web copies of their work without the proper identification of the source, but in the book, is the first time.
Thankfully, everything has been resolved. Congratulations on the fine work and to continue sharing them with us.
