Lily and dragonfly, framed quilling

Lily and dragonfly, side view

My new paper quilling project, from the "Bugs and flowers" series :) The design is based on a picture from Embroiderer's Countryside, explanation of how to make a similar lily flower can be found in Jane Jenkins' "22 flower designs".

Lily and dragonfly

The strips are hand-cut as usual, the cobweb is made from a strip of parchment, the card stock frame is hand-colored using a bronze metallic ink marker. Size: 16x22cm (6 5/16 x 8 5/8 inches) including the frame, which is 1.5cm (5/8 inch) deep and wide.

Just love the way the spider hangs down, it looks like something you would find early in the morning before the dew has had a chance to dry.
